This set of 3 Cheerful Pop Up Sponges are a perfect planet-friendly addition to your kitchen cleaning routine. Made from 100% vegetable cellulose (wood pulp), they offer the same feel and functionality as traditional sponges, but without the plastic waste. These Pop Up Sponges are completely plant-based and compostable, ensuring a sustainable choice for your cleaning needs.

Traditional plastic sponges can shed microplastics which can make their way into our water cycle and end up in our rivers, oceans and drinking water. Upgrade to these stylishly zero waste, non-toxic, plastic-free soft sponges and make a positive impact on the environment!

Features

  • durable: safe to use on non-stick cookware, copper and stainless steel, glassware and much more
  • non-scratch: natural cellulose sponge creates generous lather, so it is powerful enough to cut through grease and grime - at the same time, our sponge is gentle and won’t scratch your fine china and glasses
  • compostable and biodegradable: these pop-up sponges are made from 100% biodegradable plant-based cellulose that is safe for your home and our planet
  • quick-drying: vegetable cellulose fiber is naturally durable and breathable, allowing the sponge to air dry quickly without collecting nasty smells.
  • multi-purpose: these Pop Up kitchen sponges will meet your daily needs from washing your dishes and utensils to cleaning your countertops and sinks
  • shipping is 3-8 days; cost is based on weight of product

Contains

Three Pop Up Sponges, one of each design:
    - Fox
    - Eucalyptus
    - Orange

Use and Care

  1. soak sponge in water and wait for it to expand (a.k.a. pop up!)
  2. use as you would any regular sponge
  3. rinse and squeeze out excess water; let dry completely between uses
  4. to sanitize, boil sponge in water for about 5 minutes and air dry
  5. avoid soaking in water for too long - it needs to dry out to inhibit growth of microbes (bacteria and mold)

Disposal

  • cut into small pieces, then add to compost

Why are cellulose sponges better than plastic ones?🧐

  1. kitchen sponges are exposed to hundreds of different types of bacteria daily and experts recommend replacing them regularly, which is problematic because plastic kitchen sponges take thousands of years to break down
  2. cellulose sponges are a more sustainable choice because they can be sanitized/disinfected in boiling water - which is not recommended for plastic sponges
